Behind the Scenes at the Bridal Shower

There are many things that I love, that make me happy. One of the things on my list happens to be spending time with my sister. Because we live far away from each other our time together is spread out but we try to make the most of it!
When The Hubster and I traveled to Ohio for her bridal shower we got to have a sister day and knocked out some wedding stuff.
We worked on the table numbers for the reception:
Who knew a Cricut Machine could cut through it's own cutting board!?
*not THESE girls*
By the way- I wanted one of these crazy machines before but now I REALLY want one!! It's a very cool thing that would be very handy and very useful in my life!! (does that sound like a hint-hint to anyone else?? I wonder if The Hubster reads the old blog?!)
I can't give away too many wedding details- so I will fast forward to the actual shower.
Lindsay chose a Tiffany & Co. theme so we used the iconic bags & boxes as inspiration. The guest list was quite large so we decided on "small bites", things ladies could nibble on while socializing.
I didn't get to take nearly as many photos as I had wanted and planned on taking, but I will share what I ended up with.
Behind the Scenes: In the Kitchen
We were both loved being in a commercial kitchen! I am hoping this venture has proven to Mike that I DO need a Viking or Wolf Range AND a double oven!
Yep, THIS is my husband! Suiting up for his job as Chef for the day, cooking for a room full of ladies. Have I ever told you guys HOW much I love this guy?!
Prep Work:
We were very lucky to have the catering department and Head Chef from Mike's work help us pull together a menu that would be perfect for the shower and travel. Chef prepared a lot and packaged everything so setting up, cooking and getting the food out would be easy. We can't take credit for the actual recipes ormuch of preparation other than throwing it all together and making it look pretty!
Pulled Pork with Lime Sour Cream, on a Crispy Tortilla Chip
Tomato & Mozzarella Bruschetta
Chicken Satay with Cilantro Pesto
White Bean Hummas topped with Pruscutto on a Toasted Cristini
We also had Spinach and Feta in Crispy Phyllo Triangles
Petite Fours, Brown Sugar/Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate Mousse in Shortbread Cups, Fruit Salad, Veggie Tray & Tiffany colored M&M's
The beautiful bridal party!
